It is always a smart idea to remove or replace your rear brake calipers every once and a while. You can normally replace your own rear brake calipers on your own, with minimal effort. The main part you'll have to keep in mind is bleeding the brakes. You'll need to bleed the brakes before and after you replace your motorcycle's rear brake caliper. Rear calipers have a tendency to leak. This occurs around the brake seal and leads to a loss of pressure.
